When I review images weeks after a wedding, I'm able to draw on the things that were running in my mind while I was witnessing everything happening in front of me through my viewfinder. Laughter, tears, suspense, relief and surprise...yup, all there. You may remember this couple from the Epic New York City Engagement Photoshoot, where Yuan surprised Chloe and flew her out to New York City where I was waiting for them with my camera in hand. Well, for their wedding he had another surprise for Chloe, which prompted me to say "Man, I should have married him instead!". From the moment we first met at a local coffee shop, Courtney and Michael were elegant and classy, and their Wedding at the Roedde House Museum displayed those qualities at all ends. The Roedde House Museum, a beautiful 123 year old Victorian home located in Vancouver's West End, was the site for Courtney and Michael's vintage New Years Day Wedding. The day started out at a chilly -1.5 degrees, but soon warmed up as the sun came out to greet the lovely couple. Courtney was positively radiant while Michael kept his classic look with a suit and tie. After a warm and intimate ceremony, we spent some time walking the grounds at Barclay Heritage Square before heading back to the house for refreshments and mingling with the guests. Emma and Jordan are one of the sweetest couples I've ever had the pleasure of working with. While meeting for coffee earlier in 2015, we talked about ideas for their Fitness Themed Engagement Photoshoot and their Winter Wedding in Maple Ridge. I could already tell I would be in for a fun and exciting Wedding. We had a warm and sunny December morning to start the day before the rain and clouds came out in the afternoon. After a beautiful and touching Ceremony at the Christian Life Assembly in Maple Ridge, we headed to the Maple Ridge Golf Course for a beautiful and fun filled Reception. As the days get shorter and colder, the Wedding season starts to wind down and I find myself with free weekends again! Luckily for me, this means I get to switch things up and spend time shooting sessions outside of Weddings. Having spent time earlier in the year shooting Esther's maternity photos, I was delighted to spend time again with Esther and her husband Soo Wei, but this time with the newest member of their family, Charlotte. We had a weekend of beautiful weather so we headed for a nearby park in the Arbutus area to catch that beautiful Autumn color and to take a stroll around the neighborhood before nap time ended things a little early for us. When I first met Emma and Jordan, they had an awesome idea for a themed Engagement photo shoot. With fitness being such a big part of their lives, they wanted to do part of the photo shoot at the local gym. When we arrived, I could instantly tell they were in their comfort zone as they started warming up with stretches and eventually moved on to weights. By the time we started shooting, the gym was already about to close! The day started at Campbell Valley Regional Park, where we were able to catch the beautiful Fall colors, before heading to White Rock and eventually ending up at Gold's Gym in Langley, BC.
